What we've been up to...

Well, since break started June 6th, we've been doing a lot as a family!  We've done the usual trips to the zoo and Sea World of course, but we've also been exploring some new things.  Rod tracked down the "free" schedule to Balboa park museums - so we went to the Japanese Friendship Garden last week.  Chloe loved it, and she got to feed the fish!  Rod has been surfing ALOT which is great for him.  He even got a new board :)  I have been on a mission to lose weight - so I put myself on a running program.  It's actually blossomed into a pretty general exercise program - no gym - just outdoors!  I've been walking, running, and hiking.  We've been focusing our efforts to try and get Chloe potty trained by the ed of summer.  So far, so good.  She's been keeping a dry diaper for most of the day!  She also starts pre-school in August!  It's starting to warm up, so we're hoping to put in some family beach time soon.  Got Chloe the cutest little surf rash guard and board shorts - just need a little boogie board and we're ready to go!  And finally, we celebrated Father's Day last weekend!  Yeah Daddy!!

Preschool

Last week we turned in registration papers to enroll Chloe in preschool part-time for the fall.  She'll be attending the Eastlake Church Children's Center.  She officially begins July 28th, however, we'll still be in Boston, so she'll begin the Monday after we return.  We'll have a lot of preparing to do - like getting her "play" clothes and other things.  We hope she is fully potty trained before she begins (we're on the upswing with potty training right now!).  If not, it's okay - because they'll still take her.  They just charge an additional "diaper fee" every month.  And they actually have a scheduled "potty time" each day - where all the kids line up in the hall and take their turns going on the potty.  If she's not fully trained when she starts - I'm sure she will be trained soon after!  We know she'll really blossom by being in this program.  Getting to be around other kids her age is so important.  We can't wait to see her reaction to being there - and I'm hoping I don't cry too much...since I already got teary-eyed just from the tour!

Disneyland

We are just days away from our 3 day trip to Disneyland!  We cannot wait!  We've never stayed at any Disney hotel - so we are definitely in for a treat.  We don't have to drive to and from the park everyday, which will be nice.  Also, we have our own entrance to California Adventure right from our hotel!  Nana Pat is meeting us in Orange County Saturday morning, then we'll all be spending the next 3 days together.  Yippee!!  We have so many fun things planned for Chloe - I made reservations for us at Ariel's Grotto restaurant for breakfast on Sunday.  She'll absolutely flip!  All the princesses will be there.  Can't wait to see her face!
